1. The most powerful image in the slideshow was number 31, where Ian and his dad see each other again. My brother was in the Marines and I remember when I was little I went to the airport, so we can see him and take him home. I was really small so I only remember bits and pieces, but I remember how happy we all were to see him safe.

I think the Iraq photos were the most emotional, because you can see he holds onto some important things that mean a lot to him. Ian also had to move on to other things, and he most likely has his family in mind and the reasons he joined the army.
3. The images work as a story because they are snapshots of someones life, in chronological order. It shows how Ian went through the army. It showed how he struggled, but pulled through.

B. The captions go into detail what was happening in that point in time. The pictures do show detail, but the captions explain it.

Image 31: Ian is on the way to a mission and managed to make a quick pit stop to see his family. Ian hugs his dad after worrying for him for several months.
Image 59: Ian and his friend are hanging up christmas lights to get in the spirt.
Image 9: Ian takes an oath so he may serve the country and he can not betray his country. His mom watches in the back as Ian continues with his decision to join the army.
